• Wing-nut A needs to be removed. This can be done by hand.
• Band clamp B needs to be loosened with a 5/16" nutdriver.
• Four screws (C) that secure the cover for the air filter need to be unscrewed. A large (#3) Phillips screwdriver works well, but these can also be removed by hand.

Viewed from the driver's side of the car, these items need to be disconnected:

• Two electrical connectors (D)
• A cable clamp (E), which can be opened with a small screwdriver.
• A vacuum hose (F). This just pulls off.

I loosened this band clamp with a 5/16" socket and ratchet.

It makes more sense to use a 5/16" nutdriver, but I didn't have one handy.

When removing this part of the air ducting, it must be lifted at the back and rotated upwards.

There are a pair of prongs under the front edge that grab the throttle body.

I removed two electrical connectors on the flexible rubber duct.

After I loosened the 4 screws on the air filter box, I removed this section of duct.

Once the ducting is removed, the throttle body (the circular thing in the middle of the picture) can be reached.

I periodically spray some carburator cleaner into the throttle body, to dissolve the black gunk that builds up and makes the gas pedal stick.

Note that the engine may not run properly with the air duct removed, because the mass air flow sensor does not send the proper signal to the engine computer. I can usually get the engine to run by opening up the throttle by hand.
